Sacubitril blocks the action of neprilysin, an enzyme that breaks down beneficial natriuretic peptides. By blocking neprilysin, sacubitril increases the levels of these peptides, which helps the heart function better.
Valsartan blocks the action of angiotensin II, a hormone that constricts blood vessels and increases blood pressure. By blocking angiotensin II, valsartan relaxes blood vessels and reduces blood pressure.
