Ecasil Oral Suspension is a dry powder that is reconstituted with water to form a liquid antibiotic containing Linezolid, an oxazolidinone-class antibiotic. It is used for the treatment of serious infections caused by susceptible Gram-positive bacteria, including methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus faecium (VRE). This suspension is particularly suitable for pediatric patients or those who have difficulty swallowing tablets, providing accurate, weight-based dosing. It is reserved for infections where other antibiotics are not effective.
